We have a beautiful Tuesday morning with a very hot forecast for today. July and August are always hot, but can be dangerous if we have to be outside for very long. Thank God for air conditioning.
We had a very good service Sunday with Bro. Hershel Letsinger from the Gideons speaking to us Sunday morning. We had special singing before his speaking from Ariel Conrad. Then Bro. Roland Carson played and sang.
Sunday afternoon was our day at the nursing home at 2 p.m. Sis. Betty Hesterlee brought a short message about who wanted to tell of their experience of being baptized.
We got to visit with the guest and was glad to see Bro. Roy Lee and Leah Mae Lee there. Sis. Leah is there for physical therapy and seems to be doing pretty well after suffering from a stroke. Our prayers are with you, Sis. Leah.
I want to wish Sis. Janel Mitche a happy birthday this week. She’s a blessing to us at Faith Rock and to our quilters. Also a happy 16th birthday to Ashley McHaffie and and God bless you.
We had a very good evening service with Sis. Dewitt bringing the message after much singing, mostly from our visitors from Arkansas. Sis. Dewitt’s message was titled “A Warning From God.” The sermon was from II Chronicles 26:1-21. One of her scriptures there was as long as King Uzziah sought the Lord, God made him to prosper, but later in life when we was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction and he later died having leprosy. She admonished us to form good habits such as prayer and seeking the Lord, to read His word and we have to do this on purpose so we can form good habits in our daily walk. One of her scriptures was from Proverbs 16:25 “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” She said many had secret sins that they think were hidden, but they weren’t hidden from God.
We will miss going to Albany’s baseball game, as they have now come to an end. Our daughter, Sherry Wallace, hopes to have her on the swim team next year.
We’re proud of Ava’s swim team and was proud of Sherry for swimming at the last two meets in her age category. We thought she did real well at the meets since she hadn’t done any swimming since her school days. We never get over our pride in our children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.
