I do hope everyone is warm enough. Larry, Jimmy and Jerry were discussing the heat at church Sunday morning. I know it may be hard to believe, but even I am glad for air conditioning. They all tease me at church because I am so cold natured. Our attendance was still down a little, a few still at the lake, some may think it’s too hot to get out. I know there is always going to be an excuse to miss church. Satan will gladly supply one for you if you let him.
I teach the little kids class and I am sure missing some of my kids: Grace, Evan, Chandelyn, and Conner. I know they are doing things with their parents, but I miss them when they are not there. I am sure they missed me when I went on vacation and wasn’t there for them. I guess it all goes around. Chloe, Annie and Millie Burkhart were there Sunday, and Sunday night. They sang a special that they had learned in class that morning. They are adorable girls.
Sunday night we had our business meeting and discussed a few things including having a breakfast for our youth August 7 before church. We even got volunteers to fix biscuits and gravy. We are combining a way to get more people out for Sunday school with a way to raise a little money for our youth. We also have our teachers for VBS. Now we just need to start letting all the kids know to start making plans to attend the first week in August. Donald preached Sunday night about Jesus being left at the temple and he told his parents that he must be about His Father’s business. We also must be about our Father’s business. We need to be spreading the word of God. VBS is a great way to get kids out to church and start telling them about God.
Wednesdays nights, we are going to start studying ways to be a great witness. We are going to learn verses to help when we tell someone about God. Witnessing is a talent and you must have God with you for you to be the witness God wants you to be. We would love to have several out for our Wednesday night service. Alice makes great cookies. We always manage to have something to eat.
I took granddaughters out for a ladies day Saturday, just Courtney, Rilee and myself. We had a good time, a little shopping and eating and ended with ice cream. Sunday Shawn, Miranda, Braxton and Alexis came out and ate dinner with us. It sure seems like my grandkids are growing up. I also need to wish my son, Dustin, a happy birthday. It was Sunday, I owe him a birthday supper.
