July 6 – Caney came together Wednesday with singing. Bro. Jim Lafferty took charge of the service by taking prayers requests. Sis. Doris Lambeth led in prayer. Bro. Jim read Rev. 19:7-16. We need to be spotless before the Lord, washed in Christ’s blood.
Everyone had great scripture to read and talk about. We all learn more of the goodness of God. If your church doesn’t meet Wednesday evening, come be with us.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Sis. Lila Roberts led in prayer. Jack read Psalm 78:108 for our devotion. After Sunday school, Happy Anniversary was sung to Jim and Janice Lafferty. God bless them with many more. Praise and Worship began with singing. Those singing today were Laurena Mitchell and Melissa Harmon. A testimony was given by Jeff Shipley. Pastor Bill Austin spoke Sunday morning from Hebrews 5:7-9 and Ephesians 1:18 and 2:5-10. God has made a way for everyone “all” to be saved. We must obey the way of salvation, have faith in Christ and not our feelings.
Sunday evening Caney came together singing. Bro. Jeff welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were taken. Sis. Janice Lafferty led in prayer. Janice Lafferty and Bill Austin gave testimonies. Bro. Jim Lafferty was the speaker Sunday evening. He asked the question, when it’s my time, how will I answer God? He brought his message from Job 29:30-31. We praise Him for His wonderful grace when we repent. What have we done for Christ?
