Loftin Named NAIA Scholar Athlete At Missouri Valley

Four Missouri Valley College student athletes have been named 2011 NAIA Spring Scholar Athletes, it was announced this week by Danielle Durham, sports information director.

Included in the quartet is Weston Loftin, a junior baseball Vikings pitcher from Ava.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior status.

Other student-athletes from Missouri Valley receiving Scholar Athlete status are softball pitcher Janie Jungermann, a senior from Flint Hill; baseball pitcher Jarrod Hogan, a senior from Rowland Heights, Calif.; and tennis athlete Jason Rolle, a junior from Nassau, Bahamas.
