Troy Lee Stewart, 69 years, passed away on July 1, 2011 at his home in Ava, Mo. with his family by his side.
Troy was born Sept. 14, 1941 in Springfield, Mo., to Charles Anderson and Geneva (Parmar) Stewart.
Troy was a resident of Ava for 35 years. He retired from working with Hutchen’s Steel Plant in Mansfield, Mo. On March 15, 1965 Troy and Ann D. Schantz were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nev.
Troy was a veteran with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Ava and the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, teasing his friends and family. His joy was being with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Charlene Magoon, Sharon Dacumas and an infant sister, Wanda Fay.
Troy is survived by his wife, Ann Stewart Ava, Mo.; four children and their spouses, Ed and Lori Santacroce, Squires, Mo., Cheryl Ann and Paul Plummer, Warrensburg, Mo., Donald Santacroce, Colorado, and Helen and Jim Buttonow, Sebastian, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth and Martha Stewart, Ava, Mo., and Herschel Stewart, Squires, Mo.; two sisters, Connie and Todd Souder, Souder, Mo., and Leslie Griffith, West Plains, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Troy will be Saturday, July 9, at 2 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with military honors by American Legion Post 112 and VFW Post 5993. Officiating will be Father Paul Wightman and Deacon Joe Kurtenbach. A Rosary will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. prior to the memorial in the funeral home with a visitation following at 1 p.m.
