The Skyline R-2 Board met in regular session on Tuesday, June 28, with five members present. The consent agenda items were discussed and approved.
Old business: The board was presented with a final copy of the 2010-2011 budget. After a discussion of the revenues and expenditures the final budget was approved.
The board appointed Patricia Blasius, Missy Atchison, Wilda Moses and Terri Ryan as the first board members of the Skyline School/Community Foundation. These members will work with the community to raise funds for the school district for items that are not normally in the school budget.
New Business: The board discussed and approved a policy to pay for accumulated sick leave days when a staff member retires from Skyline. The board agreed to pay one-half the amount of a substitute pay per day for each day accumulated. The board was presented with the 2011-2012 budget. After some discussion the budget was approved.
In the superintendent’s report statistics for May included: enrollment of 78 and 11 preschoolers with an attendance of 94 percent. Summer school saw an enrollment of 48 K-8 students and nine preschoolers.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 21 at 7 p.m.
