The 43rd annual Albert E. Brumley Gospel Sing will be held Aug. 3-6 in Lebanon.
The Brumley Sing is the largest Summer Gospel Music Festival in the world. This event honors the life of the late Albert E. Brumley, proclaimed “One of the greatest songwriters of our time” by the Smithsonian Institute. Concerts will be held at the Cowan Civic Center on Business Loop 1-44 in Lebanon.
Albert E. Brumley wrote more than 800 gospel and sentimental songs including standards such as, “I’ll Fly Away”, “Turn Your Radio On”, and “I’ll Meet You In The Morning.”
His songs have been used in major motion pictures such as O’ Brother Where Art Thou?, Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and The Apostle, and have been recorded in almost every genre of music around the world with cuts by such artists as Elvis Presley, The Boston Pops Orchestra, and The Oak Ridge Boys among others.
In addition, Albert E. Brumley has been inducted into the Hall of Fames for Country Songwriters, the Southern Gospel Music Association, Gospel Music Association, Oklahoma Music, and Arkansas Music.
This year’s event will feature performances from more than 30 full-time artists including; The Booth Brothers, Dailey & Vincent, Dixie Echoes, Collingsworth Family, McKameys, Inspirations, Aaron Wilburn, Isaacs, Triumphant Quartet, Dove Brothers, Dennis Swanberg, Perrys, Greater Vision, Chuck Wagon Gang and Jeff & Sheri Easter, to name a few.
