Opening Sunday school Roy Hampton read St. John, 3rd Chapter verse 16-21; and led in prayer.
Lee Hampton took the adult class to our lesson in the 13th chapter of Luke. We all need to repent. Sometimes we forget to ask the Lord to forgive us of our daily sins. Just the same the Lord knows we are still just human and we’re going to slip and make mastakes.
We really had a good discussion on the Chapter. I always liked for people to discuss the topic in the lesson. I learn something every time. Something I missed and someone else explained the meaning, from a different point of view. They say you never get to old to learn. This writer has known that bit of news for awhile. (Ha)
We had our questions and answers from last Sunday. Wilma Hampton asked the blessing on the offering.
Sue Thomas had the opportunity to come and play for our morning services. Her mother-in-law has to have Ronnie or Sue with her at all times over the weekend. So one of them stays with her and the other one attends the services.
Sue Sisco came and sang and played a special. I forgot the title. We sang congregational songs. The last song Susie sang, such beautiful songs with lots of meaning, I love to hear her sing. I wish my voice would let me. Most of the time I have too many allergies this time of year. They are not so bad in the winter, thank goodness.
Joe Lafferty preached the 11:00 hour on Ephesians the first Chapter; and led in prayer.
We sang congregational songs and gave the invitation.
Roy Hampton dismissed in prayer.
Evening services were dismissed because we had our supper and firworks. It was beautiful fireworks. Jason Sisco, Matthew Haden, David Haden, Ben Peebles did the fireworks. The Peebles family always are good to help. We barely got the fireworks over with before the showers started. I think we got half inch in rain here. I’m glad it rained, we sure need it for our gardens, our tomatoes needs lots of rain.
We aslo had hot dogs and we fried a few fish. The fish were delicious and I don’t care for fish. We really enjoyed it all.
When it got dark we had the fireworks.
Remember this Friday night singing at 7 p.m. We really enjoy listening to all the singing. I hope all of you had a good and happy fourth of July.
Until next time, God bless. Your friend in Christ.
