Monday, Gary and I went to Ava and visited his mother, Maxine Turner. After that we visited Gary’s sister, Vicki Goodman, Vicki’s oldest son, Shannon Conn, age 39 died on the 16th in Farmington. His memorial service was Tuesday evening at the Rome Bridge. Shannon has three daughters. The two from Oklahoma are Destiny and Shawna and the other one is from Ava – Harley Yocum.

Also on Monday I visited with Joyce Strollo from Cheshire, Conneticut. She was in a week visiting her mother, Theta Porter and brother, Bill.

Lisa Clayton visited with Howard and Ella Faye Mitchell on Monday.

Saturday evening before Father’s Day , Ralph and Dana Brazeal had a barbeque. Those who came were Howard and Ella Faye Mitchell, Zamber Satterfield and Wyatt and Liviya Wharton and John Little, Tafi and Eli Shannon and Marti Yost and Ben, Dalton and Colton Moore, Ernest, Dara and Bailey Strong. When Dara and their sons, Howard and Bailey, were in Illinois with Ernest they visitied with her aunt, Christine Clayton, one day in Peoria. Some of the children went swimming in the pool. The next day, Tiffanee Satterfield and Zoe Shull and Forrest and Ariana Brooks visited Ralph and Dana.

Louin and Valerie Clayton has had a grandson, Isaac Johnston, visiting this month.

Evelyn Twitty is in the Ava nursing home for a few weeks to recover from her neck operation.

Once again I got to help at Camp Piland this past two weeks in the kitchen. Ermia Miller was the cook. The first week there was a virus going around so there was a lot of sick people the first night and some went home. There were three people that didn’t get it. They were Sandy Walker, Michael Gooley and Erma. This past week was a lot better.

We got a much needed rain Friday morning. Most hay fields are cut and the hay put up.

Have a safe weekend. Remember, freedom isn’t free. If you notice the month of July has five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays. I understand this happens once every 823 years.

Happy Birthday to my niece, Shawn Baugher on the 3rd.

I bought an old tool a few weeks ago at a yard sale not knowing what it was for. Gary said it was for cutting steel. I couldn’t find anything about it on the web because there is a music group called Mekanik.

What is the flock of pink flamingos about that I see in Ava? Why are they being flocked?
