The monthly meeting of the Vanzant Community Center was held on May 20th. About 20 people attended on the rainy night.
Plans for the annual Vanzant Picnic are in the process of being made. The menu has been set which includes a fish dinner, along with the usual hamburgers, hotdogs, funnel cakes, snow cones, and ice cream.
We are taking donations for one of three quilts to be given away at the picnic on July 9th. A 50cc Echo chainsaw with an 18” bar will also be given away. The chainsaw is on display at Brown’s Hardware in Mtn. Grove where you may purchase tickets.
We will have several games at the picnic this year, including the duck pond, pop ring toss, nickel throw, balloon dart throw, cake walk, bingo, and the bounce house, turtle race, sack race, and the princess contest.
We are having a work day at the center on Saturday, June 18th starting at 7:30 a.m.
Please come to our next meeting on Friday, June 17th at 7:00 p.m. and help with the final plans for the picnic.
