Rain showers have been northeast of this area recently. We are hoping for rain as its been very dry as these news are being written. Perhaps July will bring some rain, or even this last week in June.

Judy Breyne and Charlene Johnson’s brother-in-law, who lives in Sweet Springs, Missouri has been very ill with emphysema and is now out of the hospital. Best wishes to him. Paul Breyne’s shoulder is still painful, and he won’t see his doctor until July 6, his next appointment.

Lilly Ridge’s bi-monthly Sunday dinner will be July 3 at church following morning services. The monthly business meeting is that Sunday evening. Gainesville Eastern Star Chapter 432 honored 25 and 50 year members Monday evening at the Robert Burns Masonic Hall.

I talked with Faye Shaw Sunday afternoon and have much compassion for her as her daughter, Barbara Seymour, is in St. Johns since her car accident last week, in serious condition. She has a long road to recovery with injuries, Our prayers are with her, and her mother also.

Johnalee Suter had eye surgery Monday. Her niece, Loretta Crewse, stayed over to help her. Loretta’s daughter, in Tulsa, is much improved after her illness.

Belated anniversary wishes to Wayman and Carol King June 22nd (their 43rd) and Josh and Samantha Mayberry on their 10th anniversary. Several folks celebrated June birthdays.

Best wishes to Dwaine Turner as he recovers from eye surgery.

Happy June 30th birthday to Helen Conardy. Though age is catching up with her she is still going strong! I can’t say that is the case with me as I celebrate a birthday on Friday!

There will be some bake sales going on Tuesday “on the square”markets, which folks look forward to. Vendors have a variety of items from their gardens too, which are now producing more vegetables. Eggs are also available fresh from their farms.

Our church ladies are having their bake sales to earn money for special projects.

A helpful hint is to put the juice from rhubarb on poison ivy for a quick remedy.

VBS at Lilly Ridge Church will be one day Saturday, August 13, a month and a half away.

My sympathy to the Coy Runion family.

The big store at Caulfield is no longer there as it was destroyed by fire.
