Sunday morning service opened with the youth group leading a couple of praise songs. They did a really good job and I think they should plan to do that more often.
We then had prayer requests and prayer followed by a congregational hymn.
Sister Tillie Fowler sang a beautiful special. I always enjoy hearing her sing. Tillie, you do a splendid job every time.
Brother Roberts brought the morning message from Ephesians 5, “Mutual Submission.”
Sheila Gray visited on Saturday with Bob and Nora Edwards.
Dianna, Cassidy and Caitlyn Bernhard surprised their dad and grandpa, Jerry Sutherland, on Sunday when they arrived with Monster cookies for him for Father’s Day. Jerry and Suanne enjoyed having them visit for a couple of days.
Having Father’s Day dinner, on Sunday with Bob and Nora Edwards, were Toby and Jacinda Sheppard, Kendra and Shelden Walker, Dallee Sheppard, Shawn, Miranda, Alexis and Braxton Swearengin. They also had homemade ice cream and cake later in celebration of Bob’s birthday which will be next Friday.
Delmar and I enjoyed visiting with Jack, Barb, Miracle and Preston Breshears on Saturday morning. On Sunday morning we also enjoyed being in church at the Ava Assembly of God with Preston Breshears and several of his relatives and friends.
Sunday afternoon, Delmar and I went to Keith and Donna Bannister’s for a BBQ for Father’s Day. Later, Donna and I got in the pool and swam for awhile. We later stopped by and visited with Nora Hunsaker and Lee Williams.
Clarice Ford’s Mom, Sharon and sister, Lacey, from New Mexico, visited this week with Matt and Clarice. They also, visited several others while here too.
Well, Delmar dug all of his potatoes and they didn’t do very good this year but his tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and melons seem to be doing pretty good so far but we are needing some rain. It is getting pretty dry.
I have been trying to get things done around the house so I can rest after surgery this week.
