During Wednesday evening Bible study we have been studying the book of Genesis. This week we went over chapters 11, 12 and 13. We read the geneology of Abram and the journeying of Abram.
Sunday morning we started out with prayer requests and wishing all the fathers a Happy Father’s Day – especially our Heavenly Father. We had three birthdays this week – Bro. Kevin, Bro. Ed and Johnny. After Sunday school the children sang songs and handed out bookmarks they made for all the men and the church handed out flashlights for all the dads. Our morning message delivered by Bro. Scott from I John 3:11-24 and I John 4:8. We can only love one another properly if we have the love of the Father. We had 25 people attend morning service.
During our evening service we had 19 in attendance. We started out with special prayer for Bro. Ed’s dad and for Bro. William. Bro. Mike did a special reading from I Corinthians 13, the importance of love: it is our foundation to build all: we had a special singing from Bro. Mike, Bro. Lyndon, Bro. Larry, Sis. Virginia, Sis. Dee Dee, Sis. Shanna and Sis. DiAnne. Our evening message was from Psalms 96, “Worship the Lord in Holiness.”
This coming Saturday, June 25, we are holding a Deacon Ordination service for Bro. Mike and Bro. Lyndon to become Deacons at New Hope. We want to invite all who would to come and join us for this blessed event.
Our regular service times are women’s prayer group Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday evening Bible study at 7:00 p.m., Sunday school at 10:00 a.m., morning worship at 11:00 a.m. and evening worship at 7:00 p.m.
