Local quilters are forming teams of 4 or 5 people to sew quilt tops to assist families, and help meet the needs of the Joplin community and those devastated by the tornado.
The volunteer sewing group will convene at the Ava General Baptist Fellowship Hall Saturday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments and lunch will be provided for the day.
In preparation, the team captains have scheduled a meeting for today (Thursday), 5:00 p.m. at Dogwood Quilting.
All quilting enthusiasts are welcome to participate.
