Highlonesome

Hot, hot, hot is all you can say. The chiggers have arrived, believe me. I think they will run a mile to get on me. James picked a few blackberries Saturday morning. It is a little early, but I don’t know yet how they are going to yield.

Chadwick Baptist Temple had a nice homecoming. James preached and enjoyed everything that was said and done. We had lots of good food served. Sue Burkhart was able to be there, she has been through a lot with her health. Good to see Charley Kent Sisco able to be there for church. His brother, Rick and Debbie Sisco came for dinner.

Rev. James Orick will be the weekend speaker at Garrison Baptist Church on Hwy. 125. Everyone welcome.

James and I visited Junior and Betty Halcomb. I visited Sybil Harvill and we went to the Highlonesome Cemetery. Our family always takes flowers off the loved ones graves on the fourth Sunday in June which is Homecoming at Highlonesome. It is easier for mowing and the flowers get faded.

John and Connie Siler have enjoyed a vacation last week. Saturday granddaughter, Adalynn, celebrated her first birthday with parents, Brad and Patty Siler and several family members.

Janie Morrison and Iona Maggard went to Springfield. Iona had an eye appointment. Other than going to doctor they had a good time.

Preston and Louise Hampton visited his nephew, Ervin and Sandra Maggard, at their home in Ozark. Ervin is on the list for a heart transplant. He still has to take some more tests. Pray they don’t find something to not get a transplant.

Saturday I talked to Irene Swearengin and Roger and her brother and wife, Howard and Phyllis Adams, went on vacation. They visited their cousins, Shelly and Kerry Parham, in Wichita. They enjoyed sight seeing. They cut their vacation a little short as the Adams’ son, Billy’s father-in-law, passed away.

I had a good visit with my niece, Traci Thompson. Her husband had some tests done, but God answered prayer and Rob is doing pretty good. Traci’s nephew, Scott Murray and family of Arizona have been in Kansas City visiting his parents, Ed and Vicky Murray. Tracie was preparing for a barbeque for her daughter, Staci, who was turning 29. My how times flies. Traci’s sister, Shelly and Kerry Parham, spent six days in New York visiting their son, Brett and family.

Congrats to Colton Marler, his baseball team won first place at Miller, MO. James and I see him and brother, Wyatt, playing ball at their house and at their grandparents, Gary and Sandra Harvill.

Little Miss Charity Williams of Oklahoma visited grandparents, Shirley and Steve Clark, Uncle Keith Williams and great grandmother, Sybil Harvill.

Congratulations to Chance Gideon and Betty Mitchell who recently got married. He is Sybil Harvill’s grandson.

Saturday James and I were at Fouts grocery store in Sparta. Marie (Hawkins) Schuenemann was in there and we both looked at each other twice before we knew each other.

Dillon and Carol Morrison and Phyllis Bloomer visited George and Janie Morrison.

Dillon, Carol and his son, Gary and Brenda Morrison attended homecoming at Mt. Olive Sunday. Janie visited Florence Morrison. George and Janie attended the singing at Union Hill Baptist Church Sunday night.

Have a good weekend. Pray for rain.
