Wednesday evening instead of Bible study we had a young man from the youth group bring us his thoughts. Ben’s text was Matthew 9:16-23. We know the story of a rich young ruler asking Jesus what he had to do to have eternal life? When Jesus told him the “shall nots” in verse 18 and 19, he replied, “I have done all that from my youth up. When he heard Jesus’s reply, “sell all, give to the poor” he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. The streets are made of gold, how much is an ounce here? Gates made of all the precious stones and we think our wealth is great.
Ben also asked how committed are we to God? Prayer is now out of the schools, they want to grind the Ten Commandments off some buildings in Washington, D.C., Springfield found some old laws and told “Joe Lafferty” he could not stand in the streets and deliver God’s word. Our rights are disappearing.
Prayer requests during the service were for the youth directors, Lauren’s job interview, several unspoken, Bonnie and Bill, the church as a whole, and lost souls.
Sunday morning service, June 19 – I hope all the fathers had a blest day.
Prayer requests were for Preston Breshears, Norma Jones, Bonnie Bolding and Bill, the youth and the unsaved.
Morning services was in I Thes. 1:5 for our gospel came not unto you in word only, but in power and in the Holy Ghost. With the Holy Bible as our road map, Jesus as our example and the Holy Spirit indwelling in us, why do we have so much trouble with the path we are to follow?
Evening service started out with a few songs, Norma Jones asked to be anointed with oil and prayed for, Linda R. also. Wanda Cox’s arm was feeling good after God touched her.
We had several special songs and a blessed time was had by all.
