Opening Sunday school we omitted the superintendant’s reading of the scripture. The hour was late, so Bro. Lee Hampton led in prayer and started teaching the 11th chapter of Luke.
Wayne Sparks a minister, a former, pastor of Breedon Church, was our guest. He also preached the 11 o’clock preaching service. He also is a good singer and led the congregational singing.
My husband, Joe Lafferty, and Wayne were holding revivals together years ago. We really enjoyed having him in our church and home to visit with us. Before preaching we had questions and answers. It’s always been a tradition at Breedon over the years. I still am learning a lot. That’s the good part.
Bro. Sparks asked the offering prayer. Bro. Roy Hampton took up the offering. The congregation sang. Roy Hampton and Joe Lafferty played guitars. Joe’s oldest daughter and son-in-law were there for Father’s Day and Susie Sisco and Judy Willis. Ashley Lafferty sang and Susie Sisco played for her.
Joe Lafferty, June Durden, Susie Sisco, Wayne Sparks all sang. Preaching topic for the 11 o’clock hour was found Titus 2:11 and Acts 10:38. It’s nice to have different speakers on Sunday. We had our invitational song and then Roy Hampton dismissed in prayer. We had a pretty good attendance for Father’s Day. We had treats for our fathers. My husband (Joe Lafferty) likes any kind of candy.
Evening services started with group singing, quartets, trios, duets and etc. Wayne Sparks led most of them. We had Bro. Wayne Sparks as our speaker Sunday night also. We gave him a good workout and let the older ones rest. Some of our new preachers were absent. Ronnie and Sue Thomas were privileged to attend together and we were so glad to hear them sing again. Ronnie Thomas sang a bass solo. I can’t remember the name. Ronnie Thomas, Sue Sisco and Sue Thomas sang and practiced songs they used to sing. It was great to hear them all sing together again. Wayne Sparks’ message was found in Romans 6:13, Don’t Be Ashamed of Jesus. Be bold in telling about Him, a touch of His garment, we can be healed and justified through faith. Judy Willis and Mike Willis were our visitors Sunday night. We had group singing and Roy Hampton dismissed in prayer. We all are fighting allergies. We need another good rain.
Until next week. God bless.
P.S. The Tag Team Revival is still going on next week. We have had souls saved and baptized this Sunday. The Lord has really blessed these meetings. Try to attend. You’ll get a blessing.
