Wanda Jean King, 77 years, 7 months, and 10 days old, passed to heaven on June 16, 2011 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo.
Wanda was born Nov. 6, 1933 in Foil, Mo., to Harvey and Roxie (Norris) Beason. She graduated from Ava High School and from Draughon’s Business College in Springfield, Mo.
Wanda was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. She retired from Emerson Electric after 20 years of service. She had also worked for the Douglas County Circuit Clerk’s office for several years. Wanda served as a caregiver for four families for 12 years. She was a member of the Life Church in Ava. Wanda enjoyed gardening, cooking and most of all spending time with her family. Wanda had a giving heart and cared for many people.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Claude Beason; two sisters, Susie Miller and Audrey Tando.
Wanda is survived by one daughter and husband, Brenda and Leroy Renner, Ava, Mo.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Chae Duran, Auburn, Ala., Mindy and Tanner Pinckney, Ava, Mo., Ashley Duran and Randy McDonald, Mt. Vernon, Mo., and Dakota Renner, Ava, Mo.; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Corrine Ellison, Ava, Mo., and June Tetrick, West Plains, Mo.; three brothers, Tommy Beason, Willard, Mo., Donald Beason, Ava, Mo., and Carl Beason, Thornfield, Mo.; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Wanda were Saturday, June 18, at 11 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in the Girdner Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday from 10 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating was the Rev. Ron Pinckney. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Girdner Cemetery.
