Kiwanis Club of Ava members met on June 16 for the weekly meeting. With no guests, we were able to get down to business as well as have some time to chat a bit. Most of the meeting was spent making plans for our next fundraiser.
This Friday, June 24, we will be serving our hot, delicious funnel cakes at the Heart of the Ozarks Nursing Home Fireworks Event. We will be going to Springfield to get supplies before that day.
We are working on a schedule for workers and hope to have enough help to rotate people, so that everyone will have some time to enjoy the evening’s events as well as work.
Before that happens, on Thursday June 23, we will welcome Dr. Brian Wilson, superintendent of Ava R-1 schools. Dr. Wilson will be talking about promotion of the “Character Words” for next school year. He may also discuss some other items concerning the school.
If you have a program to present, or an idea that would be a good fit for our meeting, please contact Donna Dixon at 683-1918. For questions about our club or activities, call Glenda Little at 683-6167.
