Hannah Louise Givans, 90

Hannah Louise Givans, 90 years, 10 months, and 28 days old, passed to heaven on June 9, 2011 at St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield, Mo.

Hannah was born July 12, 1920 in Willard, Mo., to Edward G. and Molly (Clark) Russell.

She was a resident of Ava since 1950 moving from Springfield, Mo. On Nov. 17, 1946, Hannah and Eldon Eugene Givans were united in marriage in Springfield, Mo., and to this union three children were born. She was owner of Givans Furniture Store for many years in Ava.  Hannah had been attending the Walnut Grove General Baptist Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, reading her Bible and working in the store and visiting with all her friends. Her joy was being with her family and all her grandchildren.

Hannah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon Eugene in 1993; three brothers, John Russell, Ralph Russell and Edward Russell; two sisters, Mae Young and Helen Chrisman.

Hannah is survived by three children and their spouses, Sue Givans Godkin, Ft. Worth, Texas, Don and Becky Givans, Seymour, Mo., and Dan and Connie Givans, Ava, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Hannah were Monday, June 13, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Denney Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, June 12, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating were Rev. Robert Roberts and Rev. Freeda Holt. Memorials may be made to Denney Cemetery.
