Dora Driver In Serious Condition Following Saturday Morning Wreck

A front wheel and the International logo are about all that make this truck recognizable after it left the road and hit several trees. The driver was airlifted to St. John's Hospital with serious injuries. The wreck occurred on the Ozark-Douglas County line north of Dora just before noon Saturday.

Randall E. Watkins, 37, of Dora, was seriously injured last Saturday morning when the truck he was driving ran off the road and hit a tree.

The wreck occurred on Highway 181, two miles north of Dora in Douglas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The Dora Fire Department, with the assistance of by-standers were able to get the driver out of the wreckage. He was then transported to St. John’s Hospital, Springfield by Air Evac helicopter.

Tpr. Ryan Vaughan reported that Watkins was traveling south in a 1984 International truck when he ran off the road. The farm truck was reported to have been hauling a full load of silage when the wreck occurred at about 11:30 a.m.

After leaving the roadway, the truck hit several trees. It traveled so far into the woods that the truck could hardly be seen by traffic on the highway, according to an emergency responder on scene.

Hardy J. Frazier, 79, of Noble, was taken to Ozark Medical Center in West Plains with moderate injuries following a wreck on Highway 5 at Ozark County Road 804 Friday morning at 11:25 a.m.

The Highway Patrol said Frazier was traveling north on Highway 5 in a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass when a pickup driven by Kase R. Wilson, 16, of Gainesville, drove from CR 804 into the side of the Frazier car.

Wilson, who was driving a 2003 Ford pickup, was apparently not injured, according to the report.

The Highway Patrol reported that Lorraine M. Blache, 28, of Brixey, was taken to Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains by ambulance on Sunday evening following a one vehicle crash on US 160, a tenth of a mile east of Hardenville.

Tpr. Justin Piccinino said the wreck occurred at 8:35 p.m. when Blache ran her 2002 Chrysler off the left side of the roadway and struck a group of trees.

The driver suffered moderate injuries in that crash.
