Deon B. Vineyard, 84

Deon B. Vineyard, 84 years, 4 months, and 23 days old, passed away on June 11, 2011 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare in Ava.

Deon was born Jan. 19, 1927 in Boise, Idaho to Hyram and Florence (Billings) Baird.

In her working years she was employed as a registered nurse. Deon loved visiting with family, friends, and church family and was a trusted volunteer at the church and in the community taking many people to doctor visits and to appointments. Deon loved singing and led the singing at church for many years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Mountain Home, Ark.

Deon and her first husband Nolen Caldwell were united in marriage in 1946 and to this union three children were given. Nolen passed away in 1978. She then married Ed Engfer who passed away. She was then married to Jack Vineyard in 2003 and they lived in Mountain Home until her passing.

Deon was preceded by her parents, her first husband, Nolen, her second husband Ed, also a grandson and a step-grandson. Deon was also preceded by six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Vineyard, Mtn. Home, Ark.; two sons, Gary Lee Caldwell and wife, Ruth, Salem, Ark., Bill Caldwell and wife, Jennifer, Swifton, Ark.; one daughter, Debra Ann Harris, Little Rock, Ark.; six stepchildren, Grace Elaine Blau, Deborah Becker, Douglas Randolph Vineyard, Quincy Sinclair Vineyard, Scott Elliott Vineyard and James Spicer Vineyard; 14 grandchildren; 27 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Baird, Simi Valley, Calif.; one sister, Florence Giniel, Orange County, Calif.

Funeral services for Deon B. Vineyard will be Friday, June 17, at 12 p.m., in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mountain Home, Ark., with burial in the Harmony Cemetery near Salem. Visitation will be from 10 till noon in the church. Officiating will be Bishop Ray Postalwait. Memorials may be made to American Red Cross, 628 Hospital Dr., Mtn. Home, AR 72653.
