Chester Drawers To Perform at Public Library June 23

Eddie Bowman, aka Chester Drawers, will present a program for children of all ages at the Douglas County Public Library on Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m.

Eddie Bowman is a native Missourian, having grown up on a small farm near Purdy. He is an author, songwriter, entertainer and inspirational speaker. He played the part of “Chester Drawers”, a hillbilly comic, with the Brumley Music Show in Branson for eight years.

In story and song, Eddie brings his audiences heartwarming experiences and homespun stories of humor that will challenge his listeners to apply themselves to learning and opportunity. He will bring his guitar and sing songs from his popular Silly Song series, available in book form with titles like “Silly Dog”, “Gravy on a Bucket Lid”, and “Gilbert the Goose.”

With words of wit and wisdom, this is a wonderful opportunity for your child to be enriched by spending some time with one of Branson’s most colorful characters.

Books will be available for purchase and Eddie will autograph them. Admission is free. The library is located at 301 SW 3rd Ave., in Ava. For more information call 683-5633.
