Kiwanis members enjoyed meeting with Tim Scrivner at the June 9 meeting to discuss “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.” This program focuses on encouraging children ages birth to 5 to learn to read.
Dr. Brian Wilson (Ava Schools) is scheduled to be with us on June 23. Everyone who is interested is welcome and encouraged to come to this meeting at Highway House at noon.
We hope to get our flowerbed in the park going very soon and finish cleaning out our storage unit at Cripple Creek Mini Storage. On June 24, we plan to have our funnel cake booth at Heart of the Ozarks Nursing Home serving up those hot, delicious funnel cakes that have become so popular over the years! This will be a fundraiser event for our club. All funds generated, will be going toward scholarships for Courtney Thompson and Amanda Ray as well as other worthy programs we support.
NOTE TO MEMBERS: As you will see below our nursing home fundraiser is coming up June 24. Please let Donna know ASAP if you would be willing to help on that night.
ALSO: Mark your calendars for Aug. 4-7 when the District Convention will be held in Hot Springs. For more information visit www.moarkkiwanis.org.
