Sixty-five people, ranging in age from 2 months to 84 years participated in the Seymour MS Walk on Saturday, April 30.
A total of $8,895.51 was raised for the cause, according to Pearl Raymond, event chairman who has headed up the walk for the past 18 years.
The Seymour Walk is part of the Ozarks Mid-America Chapter based in Springfield.
Raymond says only 4 percent of the money donated goes toward administration at the national level. Most of what is raised goes for research and to help meet the needs of people for things like wheelchairs, canes and beds.
Participants came from nearby communities including Ava, Mansfield, Cabool, Galena, Fordland, Marshfield, Diggins, Rogersville, Springfield, Sparta, West Plains, and of course, Seymour.
Recognized as the team that raised the most money this year was “Debbie’s Divas & Daredevils.” Debbie Baker’s team raised $2,075.
