Brother Claude Robertson brought the special song, which was beautiful.

Brother Roberts brought the message from Galatians 5:16-17, “Abundant Life Series, Walking In the Spirit.”

Brother Cody Prock brought the evening message from Romans 12:1-2 and Galatians 6:9-10, he also told of his trip to Joplin, to help in the devastation from the tornado.

On Monday, Donna and I went to Nixa for Maeson Carter’s 11th birthday party then Maeson came home with me and stayed until Wednesday. On Tuesday, Delmar, Maeson and I drove to Forsyth to visit Betty and Justice DeChenne. We viewed the water while there. The city park is totally under water.

On Tuesday, Bevy Moore, Donna Bannister and Becky Carter made an overnight trip to Branson in honor of Bevy’s 50th birthday. I heard through the grapevine, that they had a really good time, then on Saturday afternoon several family and friends gathered at the city park and surprised Bevy for her birthday. She received several gifts and cards. The surprise party was organized by her daughter, Tabitha Burton, of Marshfield, MO.

On Friday evening, Becky Carter attended the Mother-Daughter banquet with her mother-in-law, Geraldeen Carter, then Becky came on down here and we worked on a quilt for Hailey Carter’s bed.

We enjoyed the visit from Pauline Okhugsen one day this week. We sat in the porch swing and had coffee while visiting.

It has been too hot to spend much time outdoors this week so I have been in the house a lot.

I took some cold watermelon and visited with Stacie, Mahayla and Miley Hamby on Monday afternoon. Mahayla had watermelon juice running down her little chin. She was so cute. I held Miley and had her playing patty cake and laughing. She is sure cute.

Lots of farmers are working in the hay and I just hope they drink plenty of water and try to stay as cool as possible.

Remember to check on neighbors and family and friends during this hot spell.
