The class of 1981 will hold their 30 year reunion next weekend, Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18. Friday night, a mixer is being held at the Springfield Brewing Company. The address is 305 S. Market. Tables have been reserved upstairs for 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be on your own if you would like to eat there. They open the upstairs to the public at 9:00 for the live music. We will also meet at the “1984” video arcade before going over to the brewery.
Saturday, June 18, the reunion will meet at the Ava Country Club. Brooke’s Country Kitchen will cater the meal at 6 p.m. A professional group picture will be taken at 7 p.m. The cost is $20 per person and please, RSVP and send your money to Katrina Matney, Rt. 2 Box 830, Ava, MO 65608.
Saturday, July 9, a get-together is being scheduled at the home of Rod Witt for a swim/pregame party then a trip to a Springfield Cardinals games and back to Rod’s for a bonfire. Please bring a light snack, drinks as well as bathing suits, towels and chairs. This event will start about 1 p.m. and at 4:30 we will be picked up and bused to the Cardinal game. After game, all will be again bused back to Rod’s. Cost is $35 for the event, payable to Ed Wittorf, Rt. 1 Box 351-B, Ava, MO 65608. Deadline is June 24.
The Class of 1981 would also like to start a scholarship fund in honor of our classmates that have died. This will be voted on at the reunion.
