Wednesday, June 1 – Evening service started out with prayer requests for Allison, Hallie, Steve, Angie and family trip, young people, military men and woman and the church as the whole.
We were studying in Acts about Peter and Paul being jailed for preaching the gospel. The lesson was also about Ananias and Sapphira. They sold their possessions, but lied about the amount and their lives were taken from them. God knows all.
The Ladies meeting was held Saturday. We had a very meaningful and spiritual meeting. Psalms 139:23 and 24 – “Search me, oh God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” How many of us could pray this from the bottom of our heart and really be sincere?
Sunday, June 5 we had special prayer asked for the following: Dalton for his bike wreck, Donna A. and family, Teresa and her family as they are going into the missionary field for the next two months, Pam Reed, Danny Dry and his surgery, John and Laurin as they need to find a church in their new area, Jimmy Powell Jr. who is going to Iraq, Rick Workman’s family and Lee Fox. We ask blessings for little James, his grandfather and grandmother. He is with his mother for the summer. I know the house is lonely.
Bevy had a story, she read “Don’t Leave It On The Desk.” This was a very touching story.
The morning sermon was on Heed The Warnings. Keep my commandments. Jesus Christ is the word. We live under the authority of Jesus Christ and there is a penalty for sin. Be responsible for the unsaved world.
Don Graham had the evening service. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We need to read Hebrews 11 every day. The faith chapter is wonderful. Everyone so enjoyed having Don bring the evening message. He did a wonderful job. God bless him and Ruby.
