Caney Church came together Wednesday evening singing. Bo. Jim was our leader tonight. Several prayer requests were turned in. Bro. Jeff prayed over their requests. Bro. Jim taught on the 10th chapter of Luke. We enjoyed his teaching very much. We can rejoice because our names are written in heaven. Everyone in attendance read Bible verses and commented on them. Sister Janice taught our young people. We had a good Bible study tonight and were dismissed in prayer.
Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. Prayer requests and praise reports were given. God is good to hear. Sis. Elsie Combs led us in a good prayer. Jack read Acts 26:1-7 for our devotion.
After Sunday school our little ones sang for us led by Sis. Tracy Shipley. What a blessing they are. Testimony was given by Jeff Shipley.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Rev. Bob Huskey, Gracie and Maddie Shipley, Melissa Harmon and Jim Lafferty all sang specials. Bro. Bob Husky was our guest speaker. He brought the message from Mark 9:43-50 – Bargain or Not? Is it worth the cost? We want Christ and His blessing without paying the price. Living the Christian life will cost you. Take your walk with Christ serious. It was a thought provoking message.
We were so glad to have Bro. Bob. Bro. Roger Harmon was in on leave from Afghanistan. It was so good to see him. He has also been in Iraq. Pray for all the soldiers in harms way.
Sunday evening service began with singing at Calvary. Bro. Jeff Shipley opened service taking prayer requests. Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Janice Lafferty, Bill Austin and Charlotte Roberts. Bro. Hi Lambeth sang. Bro. Jim Lafferty was our speaker Sunday evening. He spoke from Revelations 18:1-8. We need to get back to the foundation of the word. Our nation has become a Babylon. We need to stand for right and Christ, even if everyone else doesn’t. God’s judgment is coming.
We are a God fearing, Bible believing church. Come worship with us. We’re open every Sunday between Easter and Christmas.
