Ava Place

How does our garden grow. Well, we have tomatoes, corn, okra, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow crookneck, onions, lettuce and radishes. In our front garden we have lilies, roses, dianthus, irises and violets. We also have violets and zinnias planted in the other garden. Perry carefully attends to watering every day. Residents admire the garden and staff help keep the weeds at bay. The rich soil that was placed in the garden last year is paying off this year. We are excited to see that the tomato plants have green tomatoes on them. We have been using the green onions and the lettuce is ready. Fresh home grown vegetables are delicious. Chocolate mint is also growing, looks good, now we need to use it in something.

Residents are certainly enjoying the warmer weather and are making full use of the front shaded porch. They enjoy iced tea and other coold drinks as they socialize and watch the traffic and pedestrians go by.

Activities indoors are Bingo and board games. Exercise activities include exercise with music, beach balls and bowling. Traveling strings come each week and one of our resdients is taking guitar lessons and has joined the group when they play here. He enjoys playing the guitar with their group and it was so nice of them to invite him to play. Crafts include coffee filter butterflies and fans and we will be doing velvet art posters.

As summer progresses, we hope everyone enjoys the sunny weather and has a great week
