Older American’s Month was recognized on Thursday, May 26, with the Heart of the Ozarks sponsoring a barbeque for the Ava Senior Center. We appreciate their kindness and concern for our elderly population. Larry Bogart, Ramona Henning, Tom Sampson and Elwood Williams provided the music and everyone enjoyed a wonderful day.

The Oats bus will be making a trip to Springfield on Monday, June 6, and will be making trips here in Ava on Wednesday, June 8 and Friday, June 10. Ramona Henning’s group will be singing at our center on Thursday, June 9 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Come and enjoy their beautiful music.

On Wednesday, we have four tables set up for a pinochle tournament beginning at 12:30 and the Health Care Management team will be here from 9:00 to 11:00 to counsel you on how to talk with your family about your health care needs, and what to talk to your doctor about and questions to ask; sessions will b on relaxation and exercise and other health care items.

Our menu for this week is Monday, June 6 – grilled chicken sandwich, potatoes, cucumber and onion salad and peaches.

Tuesday, June 7 – ham and beans, cornbrread, stewed tomatoes, oven fried potatoes and fruit.

Wednesday, June 8 – chicken, baked potato, broccoli, bread and banana pudding.
