Junior & Cody Marriott To Perform Free Music Show June 3 In Gainesville

Award-winning fiddle players Junior and Cody Marriott will perform in a free music show at 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, on the square in Gainesville. The show is sponsored by the Ozark County Times and the Ozark County Historium.

In case of inclement weather, the event will move to the First Christian Church on Highway 160 east of the Gainesville square.

Junior Marriott, who operates Marriott Music in Ava, has won fiddle competitions throughout the country, from Texas to Tennessee. He has been asked to serve as a judge for the Grand Masters fiddle competition this year in Nashville and for other fiddle-music events as well.

His son, Cody, from the Lake of the Ozarks area, has won fiddle-playing championships in Missouri and Texas and placed high in national competition.

Junior and Cody play several other instruments as well, including guitar, bass and mandolin and are well-known for presenting crowd-pleasing performances throughout the region.
