The Skyline R-2 School Board met in regular session on Thursday, May 19, with six members present. The consent agenda items were discussed and approved.
Under the topic of old business, the board was presented with a preliminary budget for 2011-12. Revenues and expenditures were discussed. The board will vote on the budget at the June board meeting.
Under new business, the board voted to establish a Skyline School Foundation affiliated through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. A set of bylaws for the Foundation was presented and approved. The board discussed possible candidates to represent the community on the Foundation Board. A meeting will be set in June to talk to these candidates to see if they are interested in being on the board. Anyone in the community interested can contact Ms. Curtis at Skyline School.
In other action, the board approved the Seclusion and Restraint Policy.
In the superintendent’s report, statistics were shared and reviewed as follows: enrollment of 81 and 11 preschoolers with an attendance of 94 percent.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, at 7 p.m.
