Sandy Church News

Saturday, May 14, about 80 people attended the Open House and celebration for Dane Humbyrd, who received a diploma from Bradleyville School at 7 p.m. that day.  He also received a special award with all of his family in attendance, Doug Scott and all his family, Don Scott, Steve Scott and his family, Grandmas Sue Scott and Peggy Miller, Jeff Neighbors, Jeff and Jordan Humbyrd, Kevin and Sonya Hodges, Aaron Humbyrd and family, Grandpa and Grandma, Doyle and Frances Humbyrd, and Mom and Dad, Kim and Stan Humbyrd—a very special blessing for all of us.  So glad you helped us celebrate this miracle from the Lord.  We appreciate our church family who have been with us through 15 years.

Sunday began by standing to read Psalm 23.  Again, we had several visitors.  Prayer requests were given.  Among those were the Joe Mason family, Tammy Jo, Noah Blair, Ivan Gunnels, client of Options Pregnancy Clinic, our nation, leaders and military.  Stan Humbyrd prayed this prayer.

Happy anniversary was sung to Bill and Mary Lou Hodges.  Congratulations for 45 years.

Pastor Neal prayed and discussed the current events concerning Israel today and read from Luke 5, Matthew’s call to discipleship.  He was collecting taxes when Jesus said follow me.  He left all, rose up and followed Him.  Do we hear?  Do we obey?

At 4 p.m. we had our annual Mother’s Day fish fry done by the men of the church.  We had a large crowd with good food and good fellowship.  We appreciate the men on behalf of all Mothers and others.

Tuesday at 7 p.m. we have our special prayer meeting.  We need the Lord so much and do we even know it?  I often wonder.

Wednesday at 7p.m. we will have Bible study from Genesis.

Friday at 5:30 p.m. will be the annual Beta Club fundraiser at the Fire Station in Bradleyville.  Ashton Crum will be going to Nationals with the Art award from the State where she won first place.  Congratulations, Ashton, for great work.

Saturday, May 21, at New Mansion Church will be special singing starting a revival with different speakers each evening.  Among those are Van Menzies, Corby Lux, Josh Hume, Josh Johannas and Jeff Marsh, Jr.  Our mid-week services will be dismissed to attend.
