Rome News

Our hearts and prayers go out to all those people that were in the path of those tornados over the weekend.  We got lots of rain but no wind.

Georgia Sanders and Sue Johnson from Claremore, Oklahoma came up Friday from Oklahoma and drove all the way in the rain.  They are staying with Norma Cross in the Jenkins building in Goodhope.  After church Sunday, along with Pauline Richards, they  visited Peggy Jenkins and Goldie Miller at Heart of the Hills Nursing Home.

Norma and I had our annual yard sale last week; we got to visit with lots of people that we don’t see very often.

Those of us that live on the Rome road off of 76 Highway West, send our appreciation to the stranger that cut the tree so cars could go through, then neighbor Pat Williams pushed it off the road.  Another neighbor, Jim Bracken, filled some of the big holes in the road out to 76 Highway.

I just now, Tuesday looked at the rain gage, since Friday we have had over 3-1/2 inches of rain.

Until next time, God Bless.
