Quad Cities

5-16-11. Like I always say, it doesn’t seem possible it’s already the middle of May. My ear kept getting worse so I quit using the expensive medicine on it and started using triple antibiotic ointment on it. It started to heal some, but I called the clinic in Tipton and they got me in that same day. My doctor wasn’t there that day, but another one looked at my ear and had the staff make me an appointment today in Davenport with a skin doctor. We have an appointment at Lujack’s to get the car serviced at 10:00 a.m. and my doctor appointment is at 2:00 p.m. so that will work out pretty good and just have to make one trip to the Cities. We went last Tuesday to the Illinois side and ate lunch with Rob again and had a nice visit with him once again and once again he’s the only one we got to see. Walt took him to the bait shop in Carbon Cliff to get his fishing license. He was anxious to get started fishing. The weather turned rainy and cold again, but this morning the sun is shining it’s brightest, even though it was only thirty-nine degrees when I woke up. The sun sure does help. I made a few phone calls yesterday, but not really much news to report. A couple of people I couldn’t reach because almost everyone has changed to cell phones and aren’t listed in the book. I did finally call nephew, Eddie and congratulated him and talked in general about some things I had been wondering about. Then I called cousin, Virgil, and asked him about the reunion. He wasn’t sure about it yet, but thought they might have it June. He will let me know, I told him if the price of gas doesn’t go down, I won’t be going anywhere this summer. I haven’t heard anymore about whether my class will get together or not this year. We’ve been enjoying watching the baby horse. Like all babies it is so cute to watch. One day it decided to come through the fence where the wires were loose and it had its back leg caught in the wire. I went to call the landlord then it got its leg loose, but was on the wrong side of the fence from its mother. I called Larry and he came down and put it back in with its mother. He said it’s a filly and they named it Jewel. Of course I’ve been taking lots of pictures of it.

We’ve got orioles here this year. I didn’t realize they were that big. They eat from the hummingbird feeders, but are really too big to fit on there good so I have to get some feeders for them. They sure are pretty. My purple Irises are blooming now and they sure look pretty in the sun. We’ve got another busy day today so I better think about getting ready to go. So bye, bye for now.
