On Saturday, May 21, several area men participated in the Men’s Breakfast at the Norwood Assembly of God Church. They always report a good breakfast prepared by some of the men.
John “Buck” Dawson returned to his home after 18 days in the hospital. He was glad to get home and will stay a few days and return to the hospital to take care of his third blockage. Buck had a severe heart attack at age 37 which is unusual. We’re glad he’s done quite well so far and pray he will continue to do so. He has three sons at home to assist their mom. Dustin 15, Preston 12, and Weston about 3.
Norwood School will close in one more week. Then soon summer school will start.
Leah Vaughan is recovering from an injured knee and will have minor surgery soon on the knee.
This thing called burglary continues to happen. Rallace Stuart was hit one night lately and several guns were taken plus other things. The home was messed up. He lives in the Macomb area.
We have had ample rain in our area but are fortunate not to be victims of flooding as so many are. It’s so sad to see the devastation on TV. June Bradshaw had so much water leaking into her partial underground home, she had to remove the rugs. She stayed with her daughter, Barbara Saladin while cleaning things up.
I haven’t heard how Leon Bradshaw is doing. I heard they are taking a trip to Alaska. They have put off doing this but this seemed a good time to go. We hope he and Rita have a good trip.
Don Eagleston of near Ava called on us Thursday. We always enjoy visiting with Don.
Friday night we went to the Country Express and visited with Lynn Dodson and also watched him win $55 on the Lotto. The next game he played he didn’t win so decided to quit. You have to play before you win and I have always believed a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. That game is enjoyed by a lot of people.
The two McIntosh brothers are serving in the Marines. Tyler is now in Afghanistan and Weston is still in basic training in California. He can’t call home for awhile but his family writes him regularly. They are the sons of Paul and Sherry McIntosh south of Norwood.
Some of the Bradshaw family are making plans for their family reunion at the city park around the city hall in June, the Saturday a day before Father’s Day. They usually have a large crowd and things for the children as well as the grown ups, plus a huge dinner brought by the crowd and past reunions buy meat, etc.
Allen and Carol Greenfield of Strafford, formerly of Norwood, have been ill recently and they have both spent a week in the hospital. Pray they will be well.
Doug Neuroth is feeling better after his recent surgery.
Grace Nicholson is in the care center after breaking a hip. Pray she does well.
