New Hope Freewill Baptist Church

We appreciate all the other churches who came and supported our revival.

We have had a wonderful week of spirit-filled fellowship and revival here at New Hope. We appreciate Bro. Justin Lawson and his family for coming and being a part of this revival, we thank God for the Brother’s Obedience and for preaching the truth, the life and the undivided word of God.

Monday, May 16 – We had an attendance of 45 people. Special songs were done by Marshall, Doug, Korina and Charity, Abbey Eaves and Mallory, Abbey and Jake Lawson, Bro. Lyndon and Bro. Scott and Sis. DiAnne, Bro. Mike, and Bro. Bo and Sis Jeanna. We had wonderful testimonies and song service. Our message was brought forth by Bro. Justin from the gospel of Mark 11.

Tuesday, May 17 – The attendance for the evening was 38. Specials were sang by Bro. Scott, Larry and Lyndon and Sister DiAnne, Shanna and Virginia and Sis. Peggy, Sis. Jennifer and daughter, Abbie Lawson. Testimonies were given. Our message was brought out of several different scriptures, but mainly from Joshua 1:7 and 3:14-4:9. Bro. Justin also read from Psalms 78, Proverbs 4:23, Hebrews 12:1 and Mark 8:38. The general idea of the message was that the change begins with us. We don’t look to the left or the right, we stay on the straight and narrow path to the way home. We have to show our children the difference Christ has made in our lives so He can continue to make a difference in theirs and generations to come.

Wednesday, May 18 – Our attendance was 27 for the night. Specials were done by Scott, Lyndon, Shanna, DiAnne, Virginia, Abbie and Jake and Marshall. Bro. Justin brought the message from James 2:14-26. The basic message Bro. Justin brought forth from these scriptures was are we of a saving faith which is being saved should bring about a desire and need for different occurences to happen in our lives to show that we are saved. We can’t lie to God, our action will tell on us. Faith alone saves, but a faith that saves is never alone, there should come about a desire to serve the Lord, where our actions will speak louder than any words could ever tell. Or are we of a professing faith? Where we are all talk and no show? We need to examine ourselves by God’s standards instead of sugar coating it. Where are our priorities? Do we read our Bibles enough or just open it up on Sundays? Do we fast? Pray without ceasing? Visit the sick and elderly? Attend church with desire? Witness to the lost? II Corinthians 5:10, ” For we must all apear before the judgment seat of Christ: that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” We will all be accountable before the Lord someday and it will be too late for excuses.

Thursday, May 19 – Attendance was 38. Specials were done by DiAnne, Raymond, Peggy, Abbi, Jake, Bo and Jeanna. Bro. Justin’s message came from several different scriptures. He began with James 1:14-15. Then we went to II Samuel, chapter 11 and the story about David and Bathsheba. Sin comes between us and God, sin runs rampant. Other scriptures discussed were James 4:17, Romans 6:19, I Corinthians 15:34, Phil. 2:13, I John 1:8 and 2:2. Do we serve  the world or God? We need to awake to righteousness. Be sensitive to the spirit, don’t grieve it!

Friday, May 20 – Attendance was 22. Specials were done by Larry Squeak Scott, Mike, Shanna, DiAnne, Peggy, Virginia and Jennifer. Bro. Justin’s message was about “Jesus, The Only Way.” We started it from Titus 2:13 then went to Genesis, chapter 11, “The Tower of Babel.” Simply put: man trying to get to heaven by his own means. There is no other way, no other life, God gave us that means through his son Jesus. Jesus is the ladder to Heaven. Only by Jesus do we have access to God. Man’s attempt to reach God is a failure. God’s attempt to reach man – Jesus.

Saturday, May 21 – Attendance was 56. Specials were done by Lena, Abbi, Jake, DiAnne, Squeak, Scott, Mike, Greg, Karla, Abbey and Jeff. Bro. Justin’s message came from several scriptures such as II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 3, Jude 1:14, Revelation 19:11, I Thess. 4:13-18, Matthew 24:36-57 and Hebrew 9:28. Are you ready? Jesus is coming back. Stand on the word of God.

Revival definitely shone through into our regular Sunday services. We had 30 attend our morning service and 24 at evening service. We had a special done by Bro. Mike. Our morning message was from Amos 6:1-7 titled “Living In Our Own Luxury” and our evening message was from II Timothy 2:14 “Study To Show Ourself Approved.” Both messages tied in hand in hand together. The church becoming lazy and becoming comfortable. Where does the work come in to be pleasing unto God? We serve a living God, so why do we act dead? Do we lean on our own understanding or God’s? Jesus will be coming back with a shout, so where’s our shout to the lost to get them right? We need to know the word, share the word and not be ashamed to spread it! Satan works hard to seek whom he may devour, Christians are we going to stand idly by and allow him to work harder than us when we have authority through Christ to do all things? Satan is nothing when you consider what he is up against. Worship and serve the Creator not the created!

After morning services we went to Vera Cruz and rejoiced in the baptism of 9 people. God is awesome and wonderful, we praise Him and thank His son Jesu for what he withstood for us. We also had a birthday to celebrate; our pastor Bro. Scott turned 29 so happy birthday Brother!

I have to say that there was no way that I could have done enough justice to the spirit, the praise, or enough to describe how strong the presence of God was felt during the revival last week or at any of our regualr church services. So if you missed out, maybe you will grow curious and come see a man! Come visit us and join us for services. I pray we all are able to get things right before the second coming of Christ. Watch and pray my friends for we know not the hour or the day.
