Mt. Tabor Church

Another great day to worship as we gathered to ask God to remember the prayers that have been sent up, all our church families, the storm victims and the workers for safety. We thank Him for His protection of those who were spared and for the families suffering loss of loved ones.

Brother Dennis read from 1 Peter, the telling of His people  being a chosen generation, a royal priesthood.

Happy birthday to Ruth Shumate, who received a surprise party, I believe. Happy birthday also, to Tom Elliott, who is celebrating Wednesday, May 25, our best wishes to him.

Mary Ann Hathcock is not very well at this time and seeing her doctor, hope she is soon in better health. Martin and Mary Ann’s daughter, Pat Smith, is having serious health issues from a back surgery quite some time back, our best to her. Eleazar Soto and grandson, Diego, visited Martin and Mary Ann one day this week.

Bessie Hall had a nice phone visit with her niece, Pauline Magraw, in the state of Alabama, recently.  Bessie’s sister, Lucy Forest, also lives in Alabama, and reports are she is enjoying ripe tomatoes from her garden,  sounds good! Visitors for Bessie this week have been Tom and Jewell Elliott, J.C. Hall and Vicky Burnett.

Jack and Bonnie Haden and son, Louin, of Republic, visited Mae Cox, Monday. Donna Nichols also visited her mother. Mae’s family calls her regularly to check up on her.

Mae Cox received a phone call from her cousin, Orvil Sharpton, in Minnesota, saying he was coming to Missouri to a family reunion.

Pat Lansdown took her mother, Myrl Cox, to a local doctor last Wednesday. Paul Cox and Rosemary visited Myrl on Sunday.

Shaun and LeAnna Elliott, MaKayla and Logan, visited Tom and Jewell Elliott at different times this past week. Logan spent several days with them. Others visiting were James Elliott, Bessie Hall and Lloyd Tate.

Raymond Bricker visited Harold and Kay Hutchison Tuesday afternoon. Raymond just recently came home from Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour.
