Guess what? I’m late again. I do want to let all of the mothers out there know that I hope they had a wonderful Mother’s Day here on our mountain. We always give gifts to several mothers. Our oldest mother was Sybil Harvill, youngest – Deann Hutchinson, mother with the most children at church – Virginia Hampton, and grandmother with most grandkids at church – Francis Hampton. We also had gifts for the preacher’s wife and chocolate for all the ladies.
Wanda Hutchinson was fixing lunch for her family and I fixed lunch for my family. Roger picked up my mother from church and Stan and Dottie, Howard and Phyllis all came over for a barbeque lunch. Dustin, Tina, Courtney, Rilee, Logan and Shawn, Miranda and Alexis joined us during the afternoon. I got a picture of my mom with four of my grandchildren. It was a great Mother’s Day.
Our men are back to work on our church again. We have had a new linoleum floor put down and are having to work on our roof. We always appreciate our men. Darrell Gunter, Bud amHHHamHampton, Larry Hutchinson and Roger Swearengin, we appreciate you guys.
We also have a young man that I want to say congratulations to, Jonathan Hampton. This young man has went through several ups and downs in his young life, but he has grown to be a wonderful man and he graduated this year. We, at Eastern Gate, want him to know how proud of him we are.
Sunday at church was communion service. It was a very touching service. It is amazing to know that Jesus died on the cross for each and every one of us, and that He loved us that much. That is what I think of as I drink the juice and eat the bread. What a great love!
We are talking about different plans for our youth and possibly a revival. Please pray for these things and come help us! God would love to see you in church.
Until next time, spring is here. Take time to enjoy this wonderful world God has given us. Thank Him and praise Him for all He does for us!
