The Douglas County Historical Society held its monthly meeting on May 16, 2011. President Pat Carmichael called the meeting to order. Sharon read the treasurers report and the minutes of the April meeting and they were approved.
There was a discussion of our open house and the dedication of the Gene Bench display and we appreciate the VFW and American Legion for the wonderful ceremony and the Douglas County Herald and KKOZ Radio for all the publicity. It was a wonderful day.
We appreciate Wal-Mart for the donation of the fire extinguishers and also their support to the museum.
Pat appointed a nominating committee for the election next month.
The Summer 2011 Journals are out, and we have begun our summer hours, Tuesday and Thursday 10 till noon and also on Saturday 10 till 2 p.m.
After a general discussion on the upkeep and improvements that are needed J. D. made a motion to adjourn and Jack seconded it.
