Church of the Living God

Wednesday, May 18 – Bro. Gary had the service. Bro. Steve Wilkerson and his family were on vacation. Prayer requests were by Norma, for a man at Red Bud, Chantelle’s uncle, who is ill and praise was given for Bevy’s wonderful news, tests came back with good results. God is in control.

During Sunday morning service Bevy gave a praise report on her good test results. We give thanks to Jesus. Prayer was given for Naomi’s grandson, military men and women, Bevy’s father, Connie Holloway, and the unspoken. The sermon was based from Colossians 2:6. It sounds like Jesus hands down a tall order to me, but Jesus said it. How much attention do we pay to Jesus and His written word? Only what we want to pick and choose?

Submission means to give over or yield to the power or authority of another, to defer. That’s a very hard thing for most people to do, we want to be in control. Read Colossians, chapters 2-4. Those are hard pills to swallow, but it’s the word.

Sunday evening service was a spirit-filled service. When the spirit is flowing and people yield, it’s a wonderful time. Bro. Gary preached on the Ten Commandments. How many of them can you recite without looking them up, do you know what book of the Bible they are in?
