Unalea Kirk, 77 years, 7 months, and 4 days old, passed away on May 13, 2011 at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, Mo.
Unalea was born Oct. 9, 1933 in Culp, Ark., to Arthur and Dora (Alexander) Acklin.
Unalea was a resident of Gainesville, Mo., for several years. She owned and operated three different general mercantile stores in the area.
She was a Christian and had attended church in Romance, Mo.
Unalea is survived by her children, Hershel “Butch” & Beth Strong, Gainesville, Edward & Mattie Kirk, Magnolia, Ark., Sandy & Scott Kirkover, Marshfield, Wynoka Roberts, West Plains, and Steven O. Kirk, Texas; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Trib and Mary and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were Tuesday, May 17, at 1 p.m. at Galatia Cemetery, Norfork, Ark., with the Rev. Jim Kyle officiating, under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava.
