JaMarie McElvain, daughter of Ross and Beth McElvain of Ava, received the Art Faculty Award, Pat Watson Memorial Scholarship, High Scholastic Honors Award and the Student Manager Leadership Award at the 2010-11 Annual Student Awards Ceremony held Thursday, April 28, at College of the Ozarks.
McElvain is a 2007 home school graduate.
Awards are given based on outstanding accomplishments in the areas of academics, work and character. College of the Ozarks has held an annual awards night for the past 103 years.
This year, approximately 215 students received awards ranging from room and board scholarships to the “Golden Rule Award,” which is given to the student who best exemplifies the “Golden Rule” in his/her daily life.
