The South Central Association held its annual track meet on April 29 at Salem. The Ava Bears finished third in the conference behind Mtn. View-Liberty and Salem.
First place finishes were recorded for Ava by Charles Bruton in the 300 meter hurdles and Austin Clayton in the shot put.
Second place finishers were the 4×800 relay consisting of Kyle Clinkingbeard, Chase Dixon, Zach Dixon and Spencer Breland; the mile run by Zach Dixon; 2-mile run by Dakota Renner; and the 4×400 relay of Clinkingbeard, Dixon, Dixon, and Breland.
Taking third place were Clinkingbeard in the 400 meter dash and Zach Dixon in the 2-mile run.
Others who placed for Ava included Bruton in the 110-meter hurdles, 4th place; and Jeremy Duncan in the 300-meter hurdles, 4th.
