The Ava Area Animal Welfare League Junior members took a tour of the Animal Clinic of Ava veterinarian services and facility on Tuesday, May 10. The Animal Clinic of Ava is the veterinarian office for Dr. Peters, and the tour wrapped up our monthly meetings for this year. The group will meet again in the fall, probably Sept.
Members in attendance were Ali Hall, Karen Davis, Mary Chipps, Meliesa Swearengin, Barbara Andrus, Marilyn Alms, Paul McKee and Judy Ross.
Potted shamrocks will soon be on sale at Jean’s Healthway, on the Ava square. Get your plants for a small donation, as these won’t last long.
The AAAWL, Jr. will be in a new location this year for the Ava City Wide Yard Sale June 9-11. We will be in the same building as Jane’s Beauty Shop, located at 205 W. Washington – look for the little pink building that was the former location of American Family Insurance. Rain or shine. We are collecting good quality sale items, but no clothes or books.
Donated items may be dropped off on May 31 – June 3, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., or on Wednesday, June 8 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. All monies go back into Ava area communities to help reduce the cost for spaying or neutering pets. Look for our bright green signs displayed in businesses for more information.
Come join us, meet us, or make donations. Donations to AAAWL,J will allow us to offer the general public another round of coupons for a reduced spay/neuter for your pet. Look for up coming coupon offers to appear in the Douglas County Herald later this summer.
