Commencement exercises for the Ava High School class of 2011 will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ava High School football field.
A roster of 100 seniors will march across the stage to receive their diplomas, marking the end of an era for both the students and their parents.
The baccalaureate service for the senior class was held last Sunday evening in the Performing Arts Center, sponsored by the Ava Area Ministerial Alliance.
In the event of rain on Saturday, the ceremony would be held in the high school gym, with additional seating provided in the PAC with a live video feed.
Preceding the commencement ceremony, Friday will also involve a full day for the Ava seniors, beginning with the annual Honor Awards Program at 10 a.m. in the PAC.
Friday afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m., the traditional Senior Assembly will be held in the high school gym. Recognized at that assembly will be the Top 10 Percent and the Medallion Award winners.
The Senior Assembly will conclude with the Senior Video.
Following graduation on Saturday evening, the seniors will depart for Project Graduation, returning at 6 a.m. Sunday for breakfast at the Ava Lions Club cook shack at the Missouri Fox Trotters showgrounds.
Graduation ceremonies for Ava Victory Academy will be held Friday evening, May 13, at 6 p.m. This program will include both senior high and eighth grade graduates.
Ava Victory Academy’s kindergarten graduation will be held Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m., in the school’s multipurpose room.
Graduation for the eighth grade class at Plainview R-8 School will be held Tuesday, May 17, at Plainview School. Graduation for eighth graders at Skyline R-2 School will be held Monday, May 23.
Graduation at Mt. Zion Bible School will be held Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m., in Evans Auditorium on the Mt. Zion School campus.
This program will include senior high, eighth grade and kindergarten graduates.
