District Baseball Begins Saturday; Ava Plays Liberty

The Missouri Class 3 District 10 baseball tournament begins this Saturday at Salem, and the Ava Bears are seeded third.

The Bears will face Liberty High School of Mtn. View in first-round action. The Ava-Liberty game is set to start at 10 a.m.

With a win on Saturday morning, the Bears would face the winner of Mtn. Grove (2) vs. St. James (7) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 16.

Salem is the top-seed in the tournament and has a first-round bye. The Tigers will play the winner of Cuba (4) vs. Houston (5) at 4 o’clock Monday.

Tournament finals will be played at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 18.

Admission for district baseball games is $4 for everyone.

Coach Rex Sawyer said those attending the games are told they must enter the baseball field on Missouri Street as all other accesses will be blocked.
