Church of the Living God

Sunday, May 8, 2011 – It’s a beautiful day for all the mothers to be celebrating their day. I hope each and every one had a special day.

The prayer requests were many: Ray Patterson, Kenny McFarlin, Donna A., our military men and women, Chantelle’s grandfather, Hayes family, Darrell Lakey, Bevy, unspoken and our church family.

Scripture for the morning service was Proverbs 31:10, who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.

Mothers when their children are growing up worry about them, pray for them, sacrifice for them, there is no substitute for a mother’s love, but our Heavenly Father can do for our children what we can never do, and he did, he gave His only son for all. The most important thing my mother did for me was never to fail lifting me and my brothers up to God.

After the morning service all the mothers received roses. The mother with the most children and grandchildren received special flowers. Bonnie Bolding’s family was sitting in two pews, five for her. Her smile was beautiful to see.

During the evening service special music was performed by Don Graham and Gary, Don G. and Linda R., Bevy, and Betty H. It was so good to hear Don G. sing and he did a good job. We were happy to see Ruby G. also.

The evening message was from James 4:17. The world we live in wants instant gratification. We need to keep our lives clean and be ready for the return of our Lord at anytime. Don’t let sin keep you from your heavenly home.

Next Sunday is third Sunday potluck after morning service and singing Sunday evening. Bring instruments and songs and join in.

We are located at the corner of N.W. 6th Ave. and N.W. 7th St. If you don’t have a home church, welcome. Gary and Bevy Moore pastors. To contact them, call their home at 417-683-6547 or Bevy’s cell at 417-683-8106 or Gary’s cell at 471-543-6197.
