Brother Roy Frye opened Sunday school on Mother’s Day. After singing by the congregation, Pastor David prayed and Brother Roy read Psalm 11 for the devotion. He then dismissed us to class.
We began the worship hour with singing. Hunter Adams, Austin Maggard, Blayne and Zack Mendel all did the penny march for Camp Piland. Brother Bobby Turley took up the offering. The children made door hangers for their moms for Mother’s Day in children’s church.
Hunter Adams sang a special. Pastor David sang then preached a wonderful Mother’s Day message.
Each mother received a plant. We also passed out an envelope to each lady in the church. The envelopes all contained a message and a butterfly magnet the Wednesday night youth group had painted, except one contained a special message, they that received a gift basket. Becky took home the basket.
Sunday afternoon the men barbequed hamburgers and hot dogs for us. The ladies brought side dishes and desserts. We had a good crowd and really appreciate Brian and Kenny Adams for the hard work. We’re looking forward to the Father’s Day Fish Fry.
